The greatest joy of campervan conversions is that you can take what may be a basic, functional vehicle and add new layers of style. That way, you feel less like a camper and more like someone able to take your home comforts with you wherever you go.
Among the great possibilities you can enjoy with a van is the chance to explore long-distance walks. You can stop in various places and walk particular stretches, perhaps by stopping near a bus stop or train station, travelling to the start point and then walking that stretch back to your van.
If you need any inspiration, the Ramblers has just shortlisted several candidates in the ‘Britain’s Favourite Path’ competition, with various regional entries and a final shortlist of eight different routes.
These include long-distance routes like the Pennine Way and the South West Coastal Path, along with the less well-known 40 miles of the Clyde Walkway in Scotland. Other walks are short ones, like the Lake District route between Loughrigg and Todd Crag.
Of course, you don’t have to choose from just these eight, as you may have your own favourite, or perhaps something else you want to try, such as the Hadrian’s Wall National Trail, Offa’s Dyke Path or the West Highland Way.
Overall, there are a mind-boggling 1,600 long-distance trails in Britain, which means not only do you have loads of choice, but you will never run out of new ones to try.
This is all the more reason for you to enjoy using a luxury camper van that has had a superb makeover, as you can enjoy spending a lot of time in it. That way, you can get the best of both worlds, by enjoying the greatest luxury at the end of days spent exploring some of the finest scenery this country has to offer.
